The government, which has recently drawn attention for arresting high-profile individuals, has now detained 10 document writers from the Land Revenue Office in Tulsipur on allegations of acting as middlemen.
A police team deployed from the Area Police Office, Tulsipur, arrested them from the office premises at around noon. Authorities from the Area Police Office have confirmed the arrests.
According to DSP Home Bahadur Parajuli, the individuals were detained for moving files across different sections of the office instead of carrying out documentation work from their designated workspace.
However, legal professionals have criticized the move, alleging that the state has created an atmosphere of fear by arresting licensed document writers who were working with proper identification.
