Joint Gen-Z Movement Announced to Institutionalize the Uprising and Launch United Struggle Against the Government
A joint meeting of more than 30 Gen-Z groups has announced the formation of a Joint Gen-Z Movement, with a decision to institutionalize the Gen-Z uprising and move forward with a united struggle against the government.
The meeting, held on Poush 5, 2082, in Jhamsikhel, Lalitpur, formally brought together previously scattered Gen-Z groups under a single umbrella, giving the joint movement an official structure. More than 100 Gen-Z activists from across the country participated in the meeting, along with youths injured during the movement and family members of martyrs.
To make the movement more effective and organized, the meeting decided to expand the executive committee and entrusted Miraj Dhungana, Ajay Sodari, Sunil Singh, Vijay Shah, and Surendra Gharti with that responsibility. Ravi Kiran Hamal and Haris Bhatt were appointed as advisers to provide ideological and strategic guidance to the movement.
The meeting concluded that the current government has failed to act in accordance with the core spirit, sacrifices, and expectations of the Gen-Z movement. Participating activists accused the government of choosing conspiracy and repression against the Gen-Z uprising instead of institutionalizing the achievements of the movement. As a result, the meeting publicly stated that the current government must be ousted, an all-party consensus-based government must be formed, and rewriting the constitution is indispensable to resolve the country’s long-term political crisis.
Following these conclusions, the Joint Gen-Z Movement Committee decided to further intensify street protests against the government. In line with this decision, a large press conference will be held tomorrow at 1:00 PM at Bhojan Griha in Dillibazar, Kathmandu, to make public the upcoming programs of the movement and its political demands, according to Gen-Z leader Vijay Shah.
Through the press conference, the committee will unveil a strategy to unite all Gen-Z activists currently active on the streets, injured protesters, and families of martyrs into a single movement and expand protests against the government nationwide. The Joint Gen-Z Movement Committee clarified that this struggle is not against any individual or group, but against a failed system of governance, political self-interest, and state power that stands against public sentiment.
