A total of 106 political parties have registered to participate in the House of Representatives election scheduled for Fagun 21 (March 4). The Election Commission has extended the party-registration deadline by four additional days.
According to the Commission, 106 parties registered between Mangsir 1 and 10. Wednesday was initially the final day for registration, but the deadline was extended in the evening, giving remaining parties four more days to complete registration.
The Commission stated that 137 parties are currently officially registered in total. Likewise, 16 new parties—formed after the Gen-Z movement—have registered to participate in the upcoming election. Out of the 19 new parties registered after the movement, 16 have submitted their documents within the deadline.
With the four-day extension, any remaining new parties that register within this period will still be eligible to participate in the Fagun 21 election.
