A 13-year-old girl was killed and a teenage boy injured in a jeep accident that occurred this morning at Koldanda in Myagde Rural Municipality–4, Tanahun.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Shravan Kumar Bik of the District Police Office, Tanahun, a jeep bearing registration number Ga 3 Cha 5838, which was traveling from Koldanda towards Tharpu along the Koldanda–Tharpu inner road section, veered off the road and plunged about 20 meters down the slope.
The accident critically injured 13-year-old Koiska Gharti of Myagde–4, Koldanda. She was immediately rescued and taken to Province Hospital, Damauli, where doctors declared her dead at 8:40 am.
In the same accident, local 15-year-old Dipson Gharti sustained injuries and is currently undergoing treatment at the hospital. Police have taken the jeep driver, 30-year-old Basanta Gharti, into custody and are carrying out further investigation into the incident.
