The “election police” recruited for the upcoming election on Fagun 21 will be deployed in the field starting today. After completing recruitment and a 10-day training program, a total of 149,000 temporary police personnel (Myadi Police) are set to work alongside Nepal Police and Armed Police Force security teams.
Nepal Police appointed 133,980 temporary election police personnel, while the Armed Police Force appointed 15,110, issuing appointment letters on Magh 18.
To ensure the House of Representatives election is conducted in a free, fair, impartial, and fear-free environment, the Nepali Army has already been mobilized since the 21st under the Integrated Security Plan–2082.
Nepal Police and the temporary election police will be responsible for security inside polling stations. The Armed Police Force will handle the second layer of security, while the Nepali Army will remain in the outer security perimeter.
