Fifteen people were injured in a bus accident in Nawalpur. According to police, the accident occurred in Kharkatta forest of Kawasoti along the East-West Highway. The bus, with registration number Na 7 Kha 1576, was heading from Danda to Narayanghat when the driver lost control, causing the vehicle to overturn on the roadside.
Out of the 30 passengers onboard, 15 sustained injuries. The injured were rescued and taken to Madhyabindu Provincial Hospital in Danda for treatment, while those with serious injuries were referred to Old Medical College in Chitwan, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Madhu Nepal, spokesperson of the District Police Office.
Accidents in the area have reportedly increased due to high speed on newly widened roads without proper lane markings. Lack of clear road signs for turns has also contributed to the rising number of accidents.
