
Sixteen Nepal Army personnel were injured when a military truck met with an accident along the East–West Highway at Churiyamai, Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-15, on the Makwanpur–Bara border Tuesday afternoon.
The accident occurred at around 2:50 p.m. when a team under Deputy Commandant Harsha Bikram Adhikari from No. 2 Rajdal Battalion, Tanahun, was traveling toward Dhanusha. Of the four army trucks in the convoy, the one bearing registration number Lu Ga 280 skidded off a roadside bridge and plunged 10–12 feet into a stream, police said.
There were 22 soldiers onboard. According to Makwanpur Police spokesperson DSP Shyamu Aryal, 16 were injured, including three in serious condition while others sustained minor injuries.
A police team led by DSP Aryal was deployed to the scene, and with the help of the Nepal Army, the injured were rescued and rushed to Hetauda Hospital for treatment.
