The body of a 17-year-old boy, Abhishek Mahato, who was abducted from Dangraha in Golbazar Municipality–13, was found this morning. The police reported that his body was discovered about 100 meters east of his home in a mango orchard.
Abhishek had gone out for a walk near a local square after having dinner while driving his own tractor on Sunday night. He did not return home afterward. Despite searching the village and nearby areas throughout the night, his family could not locate him. On Monday morning, the Mahato family received a message via the IME mobile app demanding a ransom of NPR 50 million and submitted a request to the Golbazar Police Station for Abhishek’s safe recovery.
The abductors reportedly told Abhishek’s mother through IME that the ransom must be paid if she wanted her son alive.
Inspector Govinda Sah of the Golbazar Police Station said, “An investigation into the incident is underway. Those involved will be identified and brought to justice.”
According to Dharmaesh Kumar Yadav, Information Officer at the District Police Office, dogs are being brought in to aid the investigation.
