A passenger jeep heading to Srinagar from Timile in Sharada Municipality–12, Salyan, met with an accident on Thursday afternoon, leaving 19 people injured.
According to the District Police Office, Salyan, the jeep (Lu 1 Ja 2368) went out of control and fell about five meters off a rural road near Resamjyula. Out of 20 passengers on board, 19 sustained injuries.
All the injured have been taken to Karnali Hospital in Srinagar, Sharada Municipality–1, for treatment.
Police have taken the driver, 23-year-old Suresh Budhathoki of Sharada–6, into custody for further investigation, said Police Inspector Baburam Basnet, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Salyan.
