The 19th session of the National Assembly is beginning today. As the Parliament building located at the International Convention Center in New Baneshwor was destroyed by fire during the Gen Z movement, preparations have been made to conduct the session at the Federal Parliament Secretariat in Singha Durbar. The meeting will commence at 11:00 am today.
In preparation for the session, National Assembly Chairperson Narayan Prasad Dahal had convened a meeting of the Business Advisory Committee on Friday. According to the agenda, during the first meeting of the session, Chairperson Dahal will read out the letter from the President calling the session and present a condolence motion for the late Nepali Congress lawmaker Baldev Bohara.
According to Federal Parliament Secretariat spokesperson Ekram Giri, all preparations for the session have been completed. President Ram Chandra Paudel had summoned the session of the National Assembly for Sunday, Magh 4, at 11:00 am, in accordance with Article 93(1) of the Constitution of Nepal, following the recommendation of the Council of Ministers made on Poush 28.
