Kalikot — Two people were killed and two others injured after an ambulance carrying a patient from Jumla to Nepalgunj met with an accident in Khadachakra Municipality.
According to DSP Him Bahadur Khatri, the ambulance (Na 01001 Jha 0024) from Hima Rural Municipality crashed near Mayarkhola in Ward-2, falling around 25 meters off the road.
The deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Bhim Bahadur Adhikari of Hima–6 and the ambulance driver, 26-year-old Shakti Bahadur Shahi from Hima–7, Marchigaun.
The ambulance was transporting 71-year-old patient Kal Bahadur Adhikari from the Karnali Academy of Health Sciences to Nepalgunj for further treatment.
Among the injured, Kal Bahadur sustained a leg injury, while 20-year-old Lokendra Shahi suffered minor injuries to the ear and abdomen.
Police suspect that dense fog along the road may have contributed to the accident.
