
On Saturday morning, seven vehicles collided at Gaighat, Ward 29, Bharatpur Metropolitan City, on the Narayangadh–Muglin road, injuring 21 people whose identities have now been confirmed.
According to the Chitwan District Police Office, two of the injured are in critical condition: Juna Tamang from Khairahani Municipality and Saru Chepang from Ratnanagar Municipality. Both are receiving treatment at National City Hospital, Bharatpur.
Other injured individuals include:
- Devghat Rural Municipality, Tanahun: 52-year-old Yuvraj Sakhi, Sharmila Sakhi, Archana Sakhi
- Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-7: Ajay Syangtang
- Nawalparasi-9, Bardghat Susta West: Prakash Pande (32), Pavitra Pande, Pragya Pande, Asutosh Pande, Kalash Pande, Pushpa Bhandari
- Khairahani Municipality-2, Chitwan: Kripa Nepal, Kedar Nepal, Kavya Nepal, Ismirika Rana Magar
- Kathmandu: 18-year-old Kala Durlakoti
All are being treated at National City Hospital, New Medical College Bharatpur, and Janata Care Hospital, Muglin. In total, 13 are at National City Hospital, 4 at New Medical College, and 4 at Janata Care Hospital.
The accident occurred around 7 a.m., when a truck (Na 8 Kh 6629) traveling from Muglin toward Narayangadh collided head-on with a bus (Ba 4 Kh 7420) coming from the opposite direction. Subsequently, other vehicles—including a trailer (Na 7 Kh 9607), an electric microbus (Bagmati Province 06–001 G 0484), buses (G 2 Kh 1626 and Na 3 Cha 3256), and a car (BAB 8470)—were involved in the chain collision.
Authorities have confirmed that the Narayangadh–Muglin road has been reopened after being blocked due to the accident.
