Nawalparasi — At least three people were killed and 14 others injured in a road accident along the East–West Highway in Daunne, West Nawalparasi, on Friday night.
The accident occurred at Ghyu Khola in Bardaghat–4 when a truck (Na 7 Kha 9398) traveling west collided with a bus (Lu 2 Kha 2351) and a pickup (Na 5 Kha 2275) heading in the same direction.
According to police, 25-year-old Govin Budha from Baghmara, Rolpa, died in the crash, along with two others whose identities are yet to be confirmed. The bodies have been kept at Prithvi Chandra Hospital.
Among the injured, 11 are reported to be in critical condition and have been referred to Lumbini City Hospital for further treatment. Others are receiving care at Chisapani Hospital.
During the rescue operation, Police Assistant Sub-Inspector Kamal Prasad Acharya was also injured after slipping and falling. He is currently undergoing treatment in Butwal.
Police said the passenger bus involved in the accident had departed from Kathmandu and was heading toward Rolpa.
