An earthquake measuring 4.1 on the Richter scale struck Sankhuwasabha District this morning.
According to the National Earthquake Monitoring and Research Center in Lainchaur, the tremor occurred at 7:31 am with its epicenter around Ritak in Bhotkhola Rural Municipality of Sankhuwasabha.
Although the tremor was felt early in the morning, there have been no official reports of damage so far.
Earlier, on Magh 28, a 3.9 magnitude earthquake had occurred with its epicenter around Bansar in Lamjung district.
As Nepal lies in the geologically active Himalayan region, both minor and major tremors are frequently experienced. The monitoring center has urged the public to remain alert but not panic during such seismic activities.
