A total of 4,487 dengue cases have been confirmed in 74 districts of Nepal, according to the Epidemiology and Disease Control Division (EDCD). Two people have died due to dengue infection.
So far, no cases have been reported in Dolpa, Humla, and Manang districts. Dr. Gokarna Dahal, head of the EDCD’s Vector-Borne Disease Section, said that Gandaki Province has the highest number of cases.

- Bagmati Province: 963 cases
- Koshi Province: 698 cases
- Lumbini Province: 798 cases
- Sudurpaschim Province: 526 cases
- Karnali Province: 209 cases
- Madhesh Province: 89 cases
Doctors have warned that the risk of dengue transmission will remain until October (Kartik) and urged the public to stay alert.
Dengue is transmitted by the bite of Aedes mosquitoes, which can breed in any container with clean, stagnant water. According to infectious disease expert Dr. Sher Bahadur Pun, major symptoms include severe body pain, loss of appetite, and diarrhea.
Other common symptoms are high fever, joint and muscle pain, eye pain, headache, red rashes on the skin, nausea, and vomiting.
