An additional 80 Nepali nationals have been deported from the United States and returned to Nepal via Tribhuvan International Airport.
Police investigations show that most of the deported individuals had entered the United States illegally using irregular routes. During questioning, they stated that they paid brokers to facilitate their journey through these “backdoor” routes.
Preliminary investigations reveal that they paid brokers more than NPR 10 million each to reach the United States, with some reporting expenses as high as NPR 14 million. Among the 80 deportees, one is a woman, while one individual had entered the United States on a study visa.
