The District Administration Office (DAO) Kathmandu has issued a one-month prohibitory order within the premises of Tribhuvan International Airport. The order, effective from Thursday, was enforced after a protest was announced for Falgun 1.
According to the order, gatherings of more than five people are prohibited in the entire airport area — from the Golden Gate to the airport premises, including domestic and international terminals and parking areas. Activities such as hunger strikes, sit-ins, rallies, encirclements, protests, and public assemblies are not allowed.
The administration stated that the restriction was introduced due to the airport being a sensitive zone and to prevent possible incidents such as vandalism or arson. It also clarified that the right to peaceful assembly and expression remains intact outside the restricted areas.
