One person died and another was injured in a road accident that occurred this morning in Bharatpur Metropolitan City–15.
According to Deputy Superintendent of Police Rabindra Khanal of the District Police Office, a mini-truck traveling from Turechok towards Shitalchok collided with a motorcycle heading from Rampur to Bharatpur. The motorcyclist, 26-year-old Suraj Thapa of Syangja, died in the accident.
A pillion rider on the motorcycle, 22-year-old Niruta Thapa of Harinas Rural Municipality–4, Syangja, was seriously injured. She is currently undergoing treatment at Chitwan Medical College.
Police said the truck driver fled the scene after the accident, and a search operation is underway.
