The Kalimati Fruit and Vegetable Market Development Committee has fixed the wholesale prices of agricultural produce for today. According to the committee, large Indian tomatoes are priced at Rs 70 per kg, small local tomatoes at Rs 26, tunnel tomatoes at Rs 45, small Indian tomatoes at Rs 38 and Tarai small tomatoes at Rs 42 per kg. Red potatoes cost Rs 28 per kg, Indian red potatoes Rs 25 and dried Indian onions Rs 38 per kg.
Among vegetables, local carrots are priced at Rs 60 per kg and Tarai carrots at Rs 50, local cabbage at Rs 50, Tarai cabbage at Rs 30 and Naribal cabbage at Rs 40. Local cauliflower is set at Rs 28 per kg, Jyapu cauliflower at Rs 50 and Tarai cauliflower at Rs 30. Red radish costs Rs 35 per kg, local white radish Rs 16 and hybrid white radish Rs 24. Long brinjal is Rs 55 per kg and round brinjal Rs 65.
Green peas are Rs 70 per kg, local ghee beans Rs 130, hybrid ghee beans Rs 100 and rajma beans Rs 120. Bitter gourd is priced at Rs 200 per kg, sponge gourd Rs 145, bottle gourd Rs 80, ripe pumpkin Rs 55 and green pumpkin Rs 25. Okra costs Rs 120 per kg, sweet potato Rs 70, taro root Rs 65 and chayote Rs 70.
Leafy greens such as rayo saag cost Rs 30 per kg, spinach Rs 40, cress leaves Rs 30, mustard greens Rs 25, fenugreek Rs 40 and green onions Rs 50. Oyster mushrooms are priced at Rs 100 per kg, button mushrooms Rs 380, king mushrooms Rs 300 and shiitake mushrooms Rs 1,000 per kg. Broccoli costs Rs 55 per kg, beetroot Rs 65, celery Rs 180 and parsley Rs 400.
In fruits, apples (local) are priced at Rs 250 per kg and Fuji apples at Rs 320. Bananas cost Rs 190 per dozen, lemons Rs 180 per kg, pomegranates Rs 330 and green grapes Rs 250 while black grapes reach Rs 400 per kg. Oranges are Rs 180 per kg, watermelon Rs 90, sweet lime and junar Rs 130, pineapple Rs 140 per piece, local cucumber Rs 160 and hybrid cucumber Rs 60 per kg. Kiwi is priced at Rs 260 per kg and avocado at Rs 350.
Spices and other items show ginger at Rs 120 per kg, dried chili at Rs 420, green chili at Rs 150, Akbare chili at Rs 550, green garlic Rs 70, coriander leaves Rs 50 and Chinese dried garlic Rs 220 per kg. Gundruk costs Rs 300 per kg and tofu Rs 150. Among fish products, dried fish is priced at Rs 1,000 per kg, fresh rohu at Rs 340, bachuwa fish at Rs 280 and chadi fish at Rs 250 per kg.
The committee updates these prices regularly based on supply and demand conditions in the wholesale market.
