A 24-year-old man, Adit Gurung, originally from Fedikhola Rural Municipality–5 in Syangja and currently residing in Masbar–7, died after a car fell into Fewa Lake at Pame–6 of Pokhara last night.
According to Armed Police Force Nepal No. 24 Battalion Headquarters Kalika Kaski, the accident occurred at around 2:10 AM near Gairako Chautara in Pame after the driver lost control and the car veered off the road into the lake.
A rescue team of 21 personnel, including divers, was deployed to the site under the command of Superintendent Basant Bahadur Singh. The divers retrieved Gurung unconscious from the lake and rushed him to Gandaki Medical College, where doctors pronounced him dead at 4:34 AM.
The crashed vehicle has been pulled out of the lake with the help of a crane. Police said the vehicle has been kept at Ward Police Office Baidam for further investigation.
