Rabi Lamichhane, chairperson of Rastriya Swatantra Party, has said the state cannot keep citizens landless.
Addressing an election gathering on Monday in Aaptari, Chitwan, he committed to a long-term solution for the problems of landless and squatter communities.
Lamichhane said that if a strong government is formed under RSP’s sole leadership, a powerful commission would be created to resolve landlessness. He added that the commission would include non-partisan experts rather than representatives from political parties.
He argued that the landless and squatter issues have been politically exploited for years and stressed the need for a permanent solution. “This problem will now end for good,” he pledged.
According to him, the future government will identify genuine landless people and manage the issue fairly through policy, legal, and administrative reforms.
