The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index, which had been rising for the past three trading days, declined by double digits on the fourth trading day.
Today, the NEPSE index dropped by 24.45 points to settle at 2,935.94.
A total of 35.81 million shares of 345 companies were traded in 138,256 transactions, amounting to a turnover of NPR 15.09 billion.
In today’s trading, the manufacturing and processing group rose by 0.48 percent, while the trading group increased by 3.45 percent. However, all other sector indices declined.
The banking sector fell by 1.40 percent, development banks by 2.32 percent, finance by 2.09 percent, hotels and tourism by 0.05 percent, hydropower by 0.16 percent, investment by 0.53 percent, and life insurance by 1.39 percent.
Similarly, microfinance dropped by 1.64 percent, mutual funds by 0.34 percent, non-life insurance by 1.15 percent, and the “others” group by 1.70 percent.
Shares of Reliance Spinning Mills Limited and Super Khudi Hydropower Limited hit the positive circuit limit today.
On the losing side, Abhiyan Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited saw the highest decline, with its share price falling by 7.74 percent.
In terms of turnover, Ngadi Group Power Limited recorded the highest transaction value at NPR 524.7 million.
Meanwhile, based on the number of shares traded, Kumari Bank Limited had the highest volume, with 1,676,626 shares exchanged.
