On the occasion of Nepali New Year 2083, a ‘Thamel Street Festival’ will be organized at Thamel, one of the main tourist hubs of the federal capital.
The festival is being hosted by the Thamel Tourism Development Council with the aim of promoting Nepali New Year at an international level. The event will take place today at Tridevi Marg, Ward No. 26 of Kathmandu.
Vice President of the council, Sahadev Dhamala (Bimal), shared that the festival is being organized to give global recognition to Nepali New Year celebrations.
According to him, various stalls will be set up along the street on New Year’s Eve to showcase food items and goods, along with performances of traditional cultural programs.
A total of 32 stalls will be arranged on Tridevi Marg for food promotion and merchandise sales. Cultural performances will begin at 6:00 PM to welcome the New Year, and the festival will conclude at 12:30 AM.
The council stated that around 80 percent of foreign tourists visiting Nepal explore Thamel, and the festival is expected to witness significant participation from both domestic and international visitors.
