Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Paudel said the party will carry out its role in Parliament based on the government’s performance.
Speaking to journalists at Bharatpur Airport today, he stated that as the main opposition party, the Nepali Congress will support and cooperate with the government in initiatives that serve the people, democracy, livelihoods, and good governance.
He added, “There will be no obstruction from the Congress toward any work done by the government in favor of the people, democracy, public livelihood, and good governance.”
On a different note, Paudel said the party had attempted to select its Parliamentary Party leader through internal consensus, but the effort was unsuccessful. He informed that the leader will now be chosen either through consensus or an election process on Baisakh 4 (mid-April).
He emphasized that the current leadership’s priority is to maintain unity within the party and move forward together. Stating that the solution to the party’s present issues lies in holding the 15th General Convention, he remarked, “Let us now move toward the convention, not the court.”
