Following the Supreme Court’s decision in the party legitimacy dispute of the Nepali Congress, former acting president Purna Bahadur Khadka has begun consultations with senior leaders from his group.
Khadka convened a meeting this afternoon with former office-bearers, former central committee officials, and central members at his residence in Golfutar.
Leaders present at the meeting include former vice president Bimalendra Nidhi, former general secretaries Shashank Koirala, Krishna Prasad Sitaula, and Prakash Man Singh, along with NP Saud, Min Bishwakarma, Ramesh Lekhak, and several other former central working committee members.
However, Shekhar Koirala and leaders aligned with him did not attend the meeting.
On Friday, the Supreme Court of Nepal upheld the decision of the Election Commission Nepal to recognize the executive committee led by Gagan Thapa, which was elected through a special general convention.
Khadka is expected to hold further discussions with his group’s top leaders and make an official statement on Sunday.
