Nepal Communist Party leader Bamdev Gautam has claimed that his party will secure a two-thirds majority in the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for Falgun 21. Speaking at an event in Lalitpur on Monday, he said the party is preparing to launch a decisive political campaign.

Gautam stated that achieving a two-thirds mandate is essential for beginning Nepal’s journey toward socialism. He instructed party cadres to start groundwork immediately, ensuring that no tole, ward, or municipality is left unattended in their outreach efforts.

He emphasized that the unification of 17 political parties has strengthened the organization and that there will be no shortage of leaders to reach every household.

‘Two-Thirds Majority Is Necessary for Socialism’

Gautam said the party needs a two-thirds majority to initiate socialist reforms. According to him, once the mandate is secured, the party will begin work on:

  • Expanding road networks
  • Increasing production
  • Bringing scientists from around the world to Nepal
  • Sending Nepali youth abroad for skill development
  • Building houses and ensuring public welfare

He claimed that this would create a Nepal future generations would be proud of.

Gautam said:
“Whether we live or die does not matter, but for the sake of building socialism, we must achieve a two-thirds majority on Falgun 21. From there, we will begin the socialist transformation—building roads, increasing production, and ensuring people’s welfare.”

Youth Must Be Linked With Production

He added that young people must be connected to productive activities. According to him, citizens aged 16 to 90 who can work should be mobilized. He argued that many youths take to the streets in protest simply because they do not have employment opportunities.

Gautam concluded that the party is committed to building a nation that future generations will cherish and take pride in.
