Nepal’s Armed Police Force (APF) Football Club and India’s East Bengal will compete in the final of the SAFF Women’s Club Championship.
The final match will be played this evening from 5:00 PM at Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar. Both teams have expressed confidence in winning the title. Speaking at a pre-match press conference held on Friday, the captains and coaches of both teams said they are fully prepared for the final.
APF head coach Jivesh Pandey said the team has focused on correcting weaknesses and trained accordingly for the final match. APF captain Anita Basnet said, “We are not just representing a club, but the country itself. Our preparations are ongoing, and we are ready to face East Bengal.”
East Bengal’s coach and captain also said their team would deliver its best performance in the final. The tournament featured champion clubs from five South Asian countries.
The competition, which began on Mangsir 19, included Nepal’s APF Football Club, India’s East Bengal, Bangladesh’s Nasrin Sports Academy, Bhutan’s Transport United Ladies FC, and Pakistan’s Karachi City FC.
Organized by the All Nepal Football Association (ANFA), the winner of the SAFF Women’s Club Championship will receive USD 10,000, while the runner-up will be awarded USD 5,000.
In the league stage, APF and East Bengal played out a goalless draw. APF earlier defeated Pakistan’s Karachi City FC 1–0 and Bangladesh’s Nasrin Sports Academy 4–0, while drawing goalless with Bhutan’s Transport United Ladies FC.
