An Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) of Nepal Police has been arrested for killing his six-month-old son in Om Nagar, Sinamangal, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-9.
According to police, ASI Pushkar Karki, who was deployed at the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office, attacked his infant son with a sharp weapon on Sunday evening, resulting in the child’s death. After committing the crime, he fled the scene.
Karki was later arrested at the Nagdhunga checkpoint in Chandragiri Municipality-2 while attempting to escape, the Kathmandu District Police Range confirmed.
Before fleeing, he also assaulted his wife with a sharp weapon, injuring her on the head. Neighbours rushed the injured woman to KMC Hospital in Sinamangal, from where she has now been referred to the Police Hospital for further treatment.
Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
