Bajhang’s Rabindra Dhant, who defeated his Indian opponent to become the Matrix Fight Night (MFN) Bantamweight Champion, will be awarded Rs 500,000 as an encouragement prize.
Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli announced via Facebook on Wednesday that the amount will be provided in accordance with the Cabinet’s decision made last Monday. He also informed that Dhant’s coach will receive Rs 200,000.
Rabindra clinched the title last Saturday in India by defeating Indian champion Chunreing Koren.
