Bharatpur Metropolitan City Mayor Renu Dahal has resigned from her post today to file her candidacy for the House of Representatives election scheduled on Falgun 21. She submitted her resignation letter to Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari.
Dahal, who is set to contest from Chitwan Constituency No. 3 on behalf of the Nepal Communist Party, had convened the final executive meeting before tendering her resignation.
On the occasion, she expressed special thanks to the public representatives, staff, and city residents who supported development and good governance initiatives during her second term. Dahal was elected for her second term in the 2079 local elections.
Following her resignation, Deputy Mayor Chitrasen Adhikari has assumed the role of acting mayor. Acting Mayor Adhikari committed to prioritizing and completing the ongoing development projects and initiatives started under Dahal’s leadership.
Dahal is scheduled to visit the Election Office in Chitwan-3 today to submit her nomination.
