
Myagdi — A Bolero jeep met with an accident at Tusarepani in Beni Municipality–9 on Wednesday afternoon. The jeep (registration number Ga 2 Cha 5930), which was coming toward Beni from Raghuganga Rural Municipality–8, veered off the road and fell about 100 meters down.
According to Inspector Sagar Paudel of the Myagdi District Police Office, locals and police immediately rescued the injured passengers and took them to the Provincial Hospital in Beni for treatment. He said the vehicle was carrying more passengers than its capacity.
There were 15 people on board, both inside and outside the vehicle. The condition of the injured and the list of passengers are currently being collected, Inspector Paudel added.
Police have taken the driver, 34-year-old Chandra Purja of Dhaulagiri Rural Municipality–4, into custody for further investigation. Preliminary findings suggest that the accident occurred due to brake failure, and further details are being collected.
