
Today’s Cabinet meeting made several important decisions related to security, administration, education, energy, and civil aviation.
The meeting decided to promote four Deputy Inspectors General (DIGs) — Sushil Singh Rathour, Uma Prasad Chaturvedi, Himalaya Kumar Shrestha, and Dambar Bahadur Bishwakarma — to the rank of Additional Inspector General of Police (AIG) and assign them to new positions.
In line with decisions concerning the Land Problem Resolution Commission, the government decided to dissolve the commission formed in 2081 BS along with all its district-level committees.
The meeting also resolved to send the 2082 BS report of the High-Level Investigation Committee — formed to address issues related to immigration and visit visas — to the Ministry of Home Affairs for implementation.
Considering the recent disaster situation, the Cabinet declared Ilam District as a disaster-affected area for three months.
In the energy sector, the meeting authorized the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to issue energy bonds worth NPR 20 billion in phases to mobilize resources for hydropower project development.
In the education sector, the Cabinet decided to forward the report of the Tribhuvan University Land and Property Investigation Committee to the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology for implementation.
Similarly, for the civil aviation sector, the meeting decided to send the recommendation report of the Civil Aviation Reform Suggestion Committee to the Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation for necessary action.
