Under the ongoing 11th General Convention of the CPN-UML being held at Bhrikutimandap in Kathmandu since Sunday, candidate registration for party leadership is taking place today.
The second day’s closed session is scheduled to begin at 8:00 am. According to the election schedule, time has been allocated until 9:00 am today to file claims and objections regarding the final voter list published earlier.
Election Commission Chief Vijay Subba said preparations are underway to publish the final list of candidates today itself and conduct voting on Tuesday.
As per the election program made public by the commission, scrutiny of claims and objections related to the voter list will be completed by 10:00 am, followed by the publication of the final voter list at 10:15 am.
The commission is distributing nomination forms from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon. The preliminary list of candidates will be published at 2:30 pm, and a 30-minute window from 2:30 pm has been allocated for filing complaints against candidates.
The commission said the investigation into complaints will be completed within 10 minutes. After completing all verification and review procedures, the final list of candidates will be published at 6:00 pm today.
A total of 2,262 representatives are participating in the UML general convention.
