At least eight people were killed and 24 others injured in a car explosion near the historic Red Fort Metro Station in New Delhi, India, on Monday evening.
According to the Delhi Police, the blast occurred around 7 p.m. near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort Metro Station.
The explosion also set fire to three to four nearby vehicles, completely destroying them.
Upon receiving the information, seven fire engines from the Delhi Fire Service rushed to the scene and brought the fire under control.
Panic spread across the area following the blast. The exact cause of the explosion has not yet been determined, police said.
