The third meeting of the Central Committee of the Nepal Communist Party (Unified Socialist) has begun today.
Inaugurating the meeting, party chair Madhav Kumar Nepal said that the failure to address the grievances and problems gathered during interactions with people from Mechi to Mahakali has led to the rise of the Gen-Z movement and a new political situation in the country.
He asserted that the work done during the four years since the party split from the CPN (UML) has justified the party’s decision to part ways.
Similarly, senior leader Jhala Nath Khanal stressed the need for serious discussions on the proposal of party unity with another political force before fully justifying the party split.
Party General Secretary Ghanashyam Bhusal informed that reports from talks held with various parties and the party unification task force would be presented during the meeting.
The meeting is expected to discuss the Gen-Z movement, the political situation after the formation of the new government, and potential party unification, among other contemporary issues.
