
The government has appointed Chandrakuber Khapung as the Inspector General of Nepal Police (IGP).
A minister informed that the cabinet meeting held today confirmed his appointment, effective from 19th of this month. The current IGP, Deepak Thapa, will retire from service starting midnight of the 18th.
Since Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli is scheduled to visit China from Saturday, the cabinet meeting held prior finalized the appointment of the 32nd IGP of Nepal Police.
