Chief Justice Prakashman Singh Raut has departed for Bangladesh, leading a delegation from Nepal’s Supreme Court at the invitation of Bangladesh’s Chief Justice Dr. Syed Refaat Ahmed.
The Nepali delegation includes Supreme Court Justices Sapana Pradhan Malla, Binod Sharma, and Chief Registrar Bimal Poudel.
During Chief Justice Raut’s absence, Justice Kumar Regmi has taken charge as the acting Chief Justice since Saturday. Justice Regmi himself is scheduled to travel to China to attend a judicial program, after which Justice Hari Phuyal will assume the role of acting Chief Justice from Monday.
The Nepali delegation will remain in Dhaka, Bangladesh, until Tuesday, after which they will return home. Until their return, Justice Phuyal will continue serving as acting Chief Justice.
