
Amid Nepal’s political turmoil, neighboring China has congratulated former Chief Justice Sushila Karki on taking the oath as the country’s interim Prime Minister. The Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, observing this significant development on September 12, expressed its commitment to further strengthening relations with Nepal.
When asked about the event at a press briefing, the Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson said, “China congratulates Sushila Karki on becoming the interim Prime Minister of Nepal.”
Recalling the historical and “time-honored friendship” between the two nations, the spokesperson emphasized the depth of bilateral ties. China has always respected the path of development freely chosen by the people of Nepal and intends to continue doing so in the future.
The spokesperson further stated, “We are ready to work with Nepal to promote the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, enhance exchanges and cooperation across various sectors, and further strengthen bilateral relations.”
