Communications Minister Jagdish Kharel has announced that he will contest the upcoming House of Representatives election from Lalitpur Constituency No. 2.
In view of the election preparations, he also stated that he will resign from his ministerial position.
Minister Kharel expressed his desire to participate directly in politics and the democratic process through public mandate and said he is filing his candidacy to serve the people.
At a program held on Saturday at Mahalaxmisthan, Lalitpur, he said he is eager to reach parliament and officially announced his participation in the election scheduled for 21st Falgun.
He stated, “I will contest the upcoming election to represent somewhere. I have the desire and ambition to go to parliament.”
According to sources close to Kharel, he is in the final stages of preparing to run under the Rastriya Swatantra Party (Raswapa) banner.
