Nepali Congress Spokesperson Prakash Sharan Mahat has expressed dissatisfaction over the growing tendency within the party to defame and undermine fellow members publicly and on social media.
Speaking to journalists after Tuesday’s Central Working Committee meeting, Mahat said such behavior is self-destructive and harms party unity, especially during times of crisis.
He remarked, “There is a tendency in our party to publicly insult and demean our own colleagues through social media and use it deliberately — this is self-defeating. At this critical time, the party must unite and focus on the upcoming elections.”
Regarding the party’s general convention, Mahat said no final decision has been made yet, but discussions are ongoing. He added that holding an internal election during a national election period may not be appropriate, emphasizing that the party will reach a unified conclusion by the end of the meeting.
