Nepali Congress General Secretary Pradeep Paudel has urged the government to make public the report of the Gauribahadur Karki Commission regarding the events of Bhadra 23 and 24.
Although the commission submitted its report to the government, the current administration led by Sushila Karki has not yet released it, drawing criticism. Paudel called the government’s secrecy on the report “ironic” and said it raises suspicion.
“The commission, formed under Gauribahadur Karki to investigate the Bhadra 23–24 Janajati movement, has submitted its report to the government. However, the interim government has not yet made it public, which fuels many doubts and questions,” Paudel said. He questioned why the report has not been released yet.
“As the interim government’s term nears its end, why is the government neglecting its duty by not publishing the report? Making the commission’s report public is both the government’s responsibility and obligation, and keeping it secret, as with previous commission reports, is ironic,” he added.
Paudel also said that the party’s central committee has decided to demand the government to release the report.
