In Sunsari’s Duhabi Municipality–4, a contractor and a worker were found dead inside the safety tank of an under-construction building.
The deceased have been identified as 50-year-old Shyam Bahadur Tamang from Duhabi–2 and 32-year-old Ramesh Rai. Tamang had taken the contract for the house construction, while Rai was a laborer, according to Yograj Khatiwada, spokesperson for the District Police Office, Sunsari.
The bodies were discovered around 10:00 a.m. today in the tank of Chandrika Rauniyar’s under-construction house near Shiv Mandir Chowk. Locals alerted the police, and a team from the Duhabi Police Station immediately reached the site.
For further investigation and forensic examination, a specialist team from BP Koirala Institute of Health Sciences in Dharan was deployed to the scene. According to the police, the cause of death is yet to be determined, and further investigation into the incident has begun.
