A young couple lost their lives in a motorcycle accident in Rautahat district on Friday morning.
The deceased have been identified as 24-year-old Jitendra Sah and his 21-year-old wife, residents of Yamunamai Rural Municipality–4, Saruatha.
According to police, the accident occurred near Jhajh Bridge along the Gaur–Gangapipara road section in Ward No. 4 of Durgabhagwati Rural Municipality after the motorcycle went out of control.
Both victims were critically injured in the crash and were immediately rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur for treatment. However, they succumbed to their injuries during treatment, the District Police Office, Rautahat confirmed.
Police said further investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
