The CPN (Maoist Centre) has issued a special directive to all levels of its party organization to actively coordinate with election offices and participate in the ongoing voter list update process in preparation for the upcoming elections.
In a circular issued by Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, the Coordinator of the Party’s General Convention Organizing Committee, party members have been instructed to ensure that:
- Citizens who have reached 16 years of age are included in the voter list by Kartik 30.
- Individuals needing to change their voting center due to marriage or relocation complete the required procedures.
- Any errors in names, birth dates, or other personal details are corrected promptly.
The circular emphasizes,
“Updating the names of people eligible to vote is the first step in democratic practice. Therefore, the entire party organization must take this task seriously and ensure effective coordination and facilitation.”
The campaign will align with the Election Commission’s voter list update program, and the party views the effort as part of a broader initiative for organizational strengthening and public outreach expansion.
