A meeting of the CPN-UML secretariat has begun at the party’s central office in Chyasal.
UML Secretary Mahesh Basnet informed that the meeting will select candidates for the upcoming House of Representatives election under the direct (first-past-the-post) system.
According to the election schedule, candidate nominations will take place on Magh 6 in all 165 constituencies.
Earlier, the party’s constituency coordination committees, district committees, and provincial committees had already recommended names of candidates. In addition to candidate selection, the meeting is also expected to review recent political developments.
