The administration issued a curfew order from 6:00 PM on Monday until Tuesday morning. Parsa Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal stated that efforts are ongoing to find a solution to the dispute. He said that, in accordance with Section 6(a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028, a curfew has been imposed within designated boundaries of Birgunj Metropolitan City, prohibiting any movement, gatherings, rallies, demonstrations, assemblies, meetings, or encirclements within the specified area.
The local administration has declared that no kind of assembly, conference, rally, or sit-in protest will be allowed in the area bounded by the Bus Park in the east, Sirsiya Bridge in the west, Powerhouse Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south.
CDO Dahal urged the public not to step outside their homes except for essential purposes, warning that security personnel may open fire if they spot anyone violating the curfew. He also requested that those who must go out for essential reasons coordinate with nearby security personnel before doing so. The administration has stated that vehicles providing essential services will be allowed to operate during the curfew period.
