The District Administration Office, Parsa, has imposed a curfew order in major areas of Birgunj Metropolitan City.
Considering the security situation in the district, Chief District Officer Bhola Dahal issued the curfew from 6:00 PM on Poush 21 to 8:00 AM on Poush 22.
According to the administration, the curfew will be enforced within the boundaries of Bypass Road in the east, Sirsiya Bridge in the west, Power House Chowk in the north, and Shankaracharya Gate in the south. The curfew order has been issued in accordance with Section 6(a) of the Local Administration Act, 2028.
Despite the curfew, vehicles belonging to ambulances, fire brigades, hearses, health workers, journalists, human rights workers, and diplomatic missions will be allowed to operate based on necessary identification, the administration said. The curfew order strictly prohibits any kind of gathering, procession, demonstration, assembly, meeting, or encirclement within the designated area.
The administration has urged the general public not to step outside their homes except for essential work during the curfew period. It has also warned that anyone violating the order will face strict action as per prevailing laws.
