The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, has issued the first special weather bulletin for the Tihar festival period.
According to the division, although no significant weather system will affect Nepal during Tihar this year, there will be a slight influence of western winds.
Due to this effect, hilly regions of the country are likely to experience partly to generally cloudy conditions with chances of isolated light rainfall at a few places. Light rain or snowfall is also possible in parts of the high mountainous region.

- Kartik 3 (Laxmi Puja):
Weather will remain mostly clear across most parts of the country. However, partly cloudy conditions with chances of isolated light showers are expected in hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. - Kartik 4 (Aunsi):
Similar weather conditions are expected—partly cloudy in hilly regions and generally clear elsewhere. - Kartik 5 (Govardhan Puja):
Partly to generally cloudy weather is expected in hilly regions, with chances of light rain or snowfall in the high hills and mountainous areas of Koshi and Karnali provinces. - Kartik 6 (Bhai Tika):
Weather will be mostly clear across most parts of Nepal, though partly to generally cloudy conditions may prevail in Koshi, Madhesh, and other hilly areas. Light rain or snowfall is also possible in the high hills and mountainous regions of all provinces.
Overall, the Meteorological Forecasting Division has predicted that despite chances of partial cloud cover and light rain during Tihar, the weather will remain pleasant and enjoyable throughout the festive period.
