The convention journey of Kandakala Kumari Rana, Deputy Mayor of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City, has come to a halt after she was defeated in the representative selection election held under the CPN-UML’s 11th General Convention in Kailali Constituency-5.
Rana, who contested from the women’s cluster, secured 383 votes, placing her in fourth position.
In the women’s cluster:
- Ambika Bista (Malla) topped the list with 591 votes,
- Rukmini Devkota came second with 571 votes, and
- Janaki Chaudhary received 445 votes, securing third position.
From the open category, Dharmaraj Pathak, Nepalu Chaudhary, Bishnu Kumar Chand, and Yagyaraj Dhungana were elected as convention representatives.
Similarly, Tirtharaj Bhattarai won from the youth category.
