The Sher Bahadur Deuba faction of the Nepali Congress is holding a Central Working Committee meeting today. Acting party president Purna Bahadur Khadka has called the meeting for 8:00 am at Sanepa.
According to Chief Secretary Krishna Prasad Poudel, office bearers of the Central Working Committee, committee members, invited members, and chairpersons of all seven provincial working committees have been requested to attend the meeting mandatorily.
The meeting is being viewed as significant as it is taking place after the Election Commission granted official party recognition to the faction led by Gagan Thapa. The Deuba faction has rejected the Election Commission’s decision on party legitimacy.
